Where should I go for sightseeing in Okayama?
Okayama is roughly divided into three areas: Bizen, Bitchu, and Mimasaka. Okayama Korakuen and Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter are popular spots, but there are many other places to visit. Enjoy the diverse Okayama, from the mountains to the sea, from Ushimado, where you can see the beautiful ocean known as the "Aegean Sea of Japan," to the huge limestone cavern Ikura Cave, which was formed over a long period of time.

Are there any other places you would recommend in Kurashiki besides the Bikan Historical Quarter?
Return to Okayama Station and take the Seto Ohashi Line to the Jeans Street in the Kojima area, where you can experience making jeans.

Are there any art museums you would recommend?
In Okayama city, the Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art, Okayama Orient Museum, and Hayashibara Museum of Art are adjacent to the castle area. In Kurashiki, the Ohara Museum of Art is located within the scenic area.

Are there any places where I can experience making Bizen pottery?
There are several kilns in Bizen City and Setouchi City where you can experience pottery making. Excite Okayama also offers a plan for a hands-on pottery making experience at Osafune.

Are there any souvenirs you would recommend?
"Kibi dango" is a classic, but there are many other sweets available, including those made with fruits that are unique to Okayama, such as Muscat grapes and white peaches. Many are sold at Okayama Station and the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter.

Famous beaches include Shibukawa Beach, the largest in Okayama Prefecture, located in Tamano City, and Sami Beach in Kurashiki City, which has been selected as one of Japan's 100 best beaches.

Please tell me about the Kasaoka Islands.
The Kasaoka Islands, which lie in the Seto Inland Sea, are made up of 31 islands, large and small, of which seven are inhabited. These include Kitagi Island, where Kitagi stone is actively mined, and Shiroishi Island, a nationally designated place of scenic beauty.

What are the famous shrines in Okayama?
Kibitsu Shrine and Kibitsuhiko Shrine, where the legend of Momotaro remains, are popular with tourists. In Kurashiki, Achi Shrine is located within the scenic area.

How can I get there from Tokyo?
It is convenient to get there by plane or bullet train from Tokyo. It takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Haneda Airport. It takes about 30 minutes by limousine bus from Okayama Airport to Okayama Station. It takes about 3 hours and 20 minutes by bullet train from Tokyo Station to Okayama Station.
